BIRD WATCHING

When one goes bird watching, they will need a good pair of binoculars (7x35 or 10x50, is good).
We usually have some bird books available to assist in identification.
What to look for: "FIELD MARKS"
Field marks are those special characteristics that make each species of bird unique.
Sometimes one may identify a bird by its color and shape. More often, one needs to
look for breast markings, tail patterns, wing bars, a rump patch, and eye stripes or eye rings.
Once one has learned to 'read' these "Field Marks", they'll find it easier to identify the birds seen.
